Course Duration:

  • 5 day: The initial “Managing Land Search Operations” 5-day course is designed for those who have the responsibility to plan and prepare for search operations in remote, rural or urban environments. This course and its accompanying student materials are now the search management “standard” in nine countries. This is not a field skills course; it is management oriented. Participants will learn how to plan for, organize and manage a search effort for missing persons using the latest management principles and organisational structure. Emphasis in the course is on resources needed to do the job right and a recurring cycle of management processes that use the latest forms and techniques. Small group discussion and 4 actual case study tabletop map exercises are used throughout the course.

  • 3 day Advanced Refresher: The basic course has changed & developed over the past few years to a point that is almost beyond recognition for those that have taken the course more than two years ago. Many of our students requested a course to update & refresh their knowledge. We have now designed a course specifically for the experienced Search Manager who wishes to learn what is new. The course is based on the new UK version of the “Handbook for Managing Land Search Operations” and will lead students through the new concepts and test their understanding with new search management problems.
